Not so grandmotherly

How blasé I'm getting!  We had Julia and Emma over for dinner and a sleepover yesterday, and I didn't take a single photo.

That's a shame because they're both in a "change" phase.  Not that they chose it---it goes with being 11 and 9 I guess, and in Julia's case it has a lot to do with the fact that's she's now taller than me, funnier than me, infinitely more tech-savvy than me and the owner of some fine boots I'm craving.
Not the exact boots, but similar enough to make my point.

Emma, while not as tall as me, has me beat in the kitchen, something I never actually grew into.  She can out-tantrum me at the drop of a hat, but knows how to get over it pretty fast, and works in charming mode most of the time.  I can still spell better than she can though.

I really wish I had taken a photo of Emma's end-of-the-day-with-an-acrylic-hood head.  She looked like a dandelion just before it becomes a windy-puff.

  1. Those boots are pretty spiffy, but I can't believe that too many people are funnier than thou.
