Way to wreck Tuesday!

I have always preferred blogging to Facebooking, but maybe that's like saying I prefer talking with a friend to waving at him/her. Similar but not really comparable.

Today, however, I am shocked to have been hijacked on Facebook, and find I am liking blogging oh-so-much more.
Someone started using my facebook photo and sending out friend requests to my already friends. He or she sort of used my name:  Lorna Rushon is pretty close. I did what I needed to do, changed my photo and my password and reported the  misuse but don't feel like sticking with Facebook, even though I know how useful it is for catching up with people, and seeing how clever George Takei is.

I'm going to be thoughtful about taking down the page and cutting my links to people I care about or share causes with, but right now my creative brain is flashing horrifying internal videos about all my Facebook friends receiving lewd photos or being signed up to homophobic or racist sites.  All I can think of to say, after "Sorry!" is AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!  TAKE IT DOWN!

Later today, I will get informed and look at this more reasonably.

Thanks to those lovely people who wrote me right away to see if I was branching out....and try as I might, I can't seem to think of a sincere way to say that.  Everything I've tried sounds smarmy or sarcastic, so I'm going with the least offensive, and most sincere, appearances to the contrary.  Really, thanks.

  1. How awful! Hope you sort it out, my dear. I decided to limit my 'friends' list to very close and family only but I don't know if this will prevent being high-jacked. So far, fingers crossed, I am ok... hang in there.

  2. Hmmm, don't think I saw anything. Sorry I missed Dave, but he must have driven up north past the big fire in Ventura County.

  3. That is terrible! I haven't been on facebook in three months, because mostly I was just bored with it. To me it seems like high school all over again, with cliques and such. I just don't need that in my life. I'm doing better with blogging more and am really glad to be back at it. It's kinda sad I guess that my blogging "friends" are nicer to me and feel more like friends than the "real" friends I had on facebook (and irl).
    have a great day!
